we make Pupil eyewear from organic, biotic materials that breathe and age naturally. therefore, your pair may change slightly over the years and inevitably require some cleaning. if you ask if you should wash your glasses, the answer is yes, but there’ a bit more to it.
WHEN TO WASH
the simple answer is when they’re dirty, however we recommend washing only when the cellulose develops a dull film or slight discoloration. Pupil’s cellulose will age naturally and may never require a good wash— in general, wear often and wash not so often.
WHAT TO USE
we recommend avoiding harsh cleaners, detergents, or Isopropyl Alcohol.
these can damage the cellulose and cause drying of the fibers. instead,
simply remove the leases and wash the frame with warm water and a mild soap— scrubbing gently with a super-soft toothbrush allow the frame to air dry before re-inserting lenses.
THINGS TO REMEMBER
Pupil cellulose is a biotic material that will age naturally. to maintain the original appearance of your Pupil pair, wash every 6 months and avoid overspray from your lens cleaner. excess wiping (with a microfiber cloth)may cause fine scratching or swirl marks.
